The Power Of The Tongue !!!

Monday, November 16, 2009, 22:06

There is an old proverb with a lot of wisdom. It says, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and whoever loves it will eat its fruit.”

The words that you use and the conversations you have with yourself create things in you. They can create positive things or negative things. It is our choice. The tongue has the power of life and death. This is why it is so important to be diligent in using the power of the tongue to create a positive force in our lives. It is so true. What we say has the ability to create situations, emotions, and thoughts in others. A kind word helps people, negative words hurt – sometimes for a very long time.

You can either choose to learn how to speak and release positive words of love, encouragement and edification to other people in your own personal dealings with them, or you can choose to release negative words of condemnation, criticism, coldness and harshness. The choice is yours!

Every single one of us can stop and think how good we have felt when someone has released and spoken words of love, encouragement and edification to us. Words can cut right through you like a knife, and when those words are positive and constructive, they can have an incredible way of building up your own sense of self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence.

Remember, your tongue has power. Use it!
Bible Verses:
Proverbs 18:20-21, Proverbs 12:18, Psalm 34:13, Isaiah 50:4, Colosians 4:5, Psalm 141:3, Proverbs 15:28..
****Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life****

"LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT" is a WORLDLY TERM used for "THE SPIRIT OF DISCERNMENT". "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path including knowing your spouse". Most times, people ignore this and end up marrying the wrong person. They seek people's opinion and forgot that such opinions are based on their own personal experiences which does not apply to you. Our God works in mysterious ways. SEEK GOD'S OPINION AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET.

BY THE WAY, WHAT IS LOVE? FIRST CORINTHIANS 13 ANSWERS IT ALL.

I totally agree with you. It may be attraction at first sight, but not love. I am of the opinion that love is a deliberate, conscious decision. It's not a feeling like hunger, anger, or sadness that you get into and come out of, but a choice.
It comes with having knowledge of a person.
Even for food that we like, we must have tasted it to have reached a conclusion that we like the food at all.
So, love at first sight, nah.

I agree, loving is not just an occurrence, its a process. A carefully built feeling over a period of time. you can be attracted first time, but you cant love at first sight.

Yeah, Love, Love @ 1st sight, Love in progress…….Love @ Large! We all need that Love, every inch of it. Let us Flash it (love) first and we get back loads of it in return.

Our perception of Love here may differ, but am coming from the holistic view of Love and not narrowing it "man- woman' relationship.

I vote in favor of Love @ 1st Sight! With our eyes we appreciate one another first, and then build more love on love as we progress with the person(s).

LOVE & LOVING REVOLVES! LET US JOIN THE LOVE REVOLUTION & CHANGE THE WORLD.

    GOD IS LOVE.

I strongly believe in the power of the tongue. I got my present job just by declaring the word and indeed when my cloud was full of rain, it emptied its self on me. God just positioned me for the miracle. i went to visit one of my pastors not knowing he was a consultant for the company and i never mentioned it to anyone. During our disscussion he made mention of the company to me and asked if i was interested in working there and the rest is history…. Got my job without stress and you know what, it alligned with my confession that I WILL NEVER CUE FOR A JOB & THAT ONCE I AM IN FINAL YEAR I WILL GET A JOB BEFORE GRADUATING……So you see the word works and you can chat the course of ur life with your tongue……. so many testimonies Chaz…… So my brother why should i struggle when i can use my tongue…… All i do is wake up at night and set my self on a course that i must follow……..

The power of tongue, l once read a book with that heading and it was inspiring, you are what you say, if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the word of God you cant confess negative things, even if what you are seeing around you is not corresponding to what you believe, keep saying it, keep saying it, eat it digest i…t, you can say you are filled with the Holy Spirit and a child of God and say what is contrary to the word of God, the book of proverb says, as a man is so he thinks. Things dont just happen they are revealed in the spirit, you must agree with the spirit with your tongue before it is manifested in the physical, catch it up with your faith. The bible says as you have said in my ears today so shall l do unto you, it also calling forth those things as if they are:if you do not have a child today, call forth that child even start buying things for your baby, tell them to start calling you mama funso, chidinma, it might looks foolish but it does work, because He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

if you do not have a child call forth your child, even tell God where you want to work, it does work, what you want your child to be, his/her future, spouses, work, start calling it forth now dont say they are too young, you are sowing a seed and water that seed until it begins to germinate, the word works, it works for me so l am recommending it to everybody, say good things about yourself, when men says there is a casting down even in the economic melt down, we sahll say there is a lifiting up for us, becasue He is Jehovah. Many of us lack this knowledge it is time to wake up from our slumber and dont allow devil to cheat you by agreeing to say negative word to your neighbour, friend, spouse, children.

l did have a personal experience just of recent, l was wearing a hair style and when l did it , at least l was feeling good with myself and carried the same spirit to work the second day been monday, but unfortunately when one of my colleague saw it he just said lizzy this is the worst hair style you have ever done since l have known you, did you do at night or was it a road side hair dresser, l felt bad, but trust me, l got home that night and got the hair loosed l had to wear wig throughtout the week, he saw me the next day and he said what happen to your hair, l said you said it was not good, and he said that does not mean you should loose it others wouldnt do that though he said out of a free mind but that is how his tongue has made me look, l was uncomfortable throughout the day, yours might not be my kind of experience but please if you have to say something out of your mouth it should be the one that will edify as the bible commanded and not destory.

the power of the tongue is very great. God has given us the power of the spoken word and its in the tongue. what we see all around us was built by words from God. when we condition ourselves to say the right things and not blatter out negativities, what we say eventually comes to pass. we should watch how we use(or wag in some cases) our tongues. it has fire and could burn. besides, i condition my world through my tongue…it works

love at first sight?… it is a must for everybody whether we like it or not cos God said we should love one another as he has loved us..

For the power of spoken words?… my brother has down syndrome, my nephew is greatly deformed and we have been confessing positively for over 19 years (for my brother ) and 3 years (for my nephew)now. and nothing has changed.. what happens in such cases? we confessed and we believed that God will change their positions… but we cant understand why its not working for us

I dont belive in love at first sight, i think it is more of attraction at first sight. Love is not a decision you make, there are times you cant just help but love someone, love is a feeling that grows gradually through an individuals action. You can decide on so many things but you cant decide who you fall in love with, it starts from attraction then care and concern, finnally stops at love. At the same time, it may be through the spirit of discernment, you can only hide the way you feel but you cant run away from it. The tongue is a very powerful weapon, it holds the power of life and death. The Bible says prophesy a word and it shall come to pass. USE IT WISELY. SHALLOM

This is meant for Chaz. B. I find most of the topics you raise interesting and kind of help to people facing one difficult situation or the other. I wouldn't know if this particular topic as been treated earlier "PEOPLE NEGLECTED INTENTIONALLY OR BY DECEIT". It could also be edited or rephrased.
